The booker prize longlist will be revealed on the 28th of july – and though no time has been announced, I dare to predict that it will be announced at 14:00 BST as it previously has. Last year I predicted 2 of the longlist nominees – Flesh (that ended up winning that year) and Endling. But last year was my first prediction year and the only thing I had to go by was “which books do I think fit that category. I was way off – but these were my predictions then:

I decided to expand my prediction this year and do two separate groups. Group 1 are the books predictions based on the books with the most booker buzz. I’ve been following everyone on social media that has been posting predictions, I’ve seen several youtube specualtions, dipped into the history of the booker, the judges particular taste and I’ve come up with these:

But I found this list left many books off that I would love to see on the list, either because I’ve read and loved them or because they are books I desperately want to read. So I made a separate wishlist:

Now all I can do is sit and wait, my calendar is marked and I’m ready. Meanwhile I’ll be enjoying some of these predictions in the sun while I wait. Do we have any of the same predictions? Or hopefuls?
