I’ve never had such a hard time picking out a book to read. There’s just so many great books on my radar and I can’t pick just one! Like any other bookish person, my TBR (to-be-read) pile is endless and still I keep picking up new ones in both physical and electronic format.
So I’ve been pulling out books and reading a chapter and putting it back. Pulling another one out, reading a chapter and putting it back. I’ve started maybe 7 or 8 eight books and haven’t gotten past chapter 1. I think most people would call it a slump. I refuse to accept that just yet. I have a feeling that if I just pick one, I’ll be fine.
So since I can’t decide for myself, I turned to the RW bookclub and their september pick – Little fires everywhere by Celeste Ng.
I read her debut “Everything I never told you” when it came out three years ago and I absolutely fell in love with her writing. Like a boa that carefully wraps itself around you and squeezes you softly at first and then harder and harder until it crushes every bone in your body. That’s how I would describe it. So giving into reading another of her books was very easy.
