I enjoy celebrity memoirs as much as the next person, but I hardly ever read them if I’m not a fan in one way or another. I like to know who it is I’m reading about, know their tone of voice, their personality, their character. Trevor Noah is no such creature. I know practically nothing about this man, other than snippets I’ve seen on Facebook. But his topic intrigued me.
Since I am also i mixed-breed/biracial/halfling/mutt or whatever you want to call it, and I’ve suffered from the odd identity crisis, I always seek out book of others that might have experienced some of the same things as I did growing up. It calms my feeling of loneliness and out-of-placeness.
I can’t wait to get to know this book, like an anticipation for that first kiss.
