This book has been in my to-be-read pile since it came out. I bought it before they managed to stick the cover with labels like National book award, Oprah’s pick and Pulitzer-winner.

It also won the Goodreads choice award for historical fiction in 2016. I don’t know why I’ve waited so long to read it, maybe there’s just too many books in my TBR pile!

This week I’m hiding under the covers with Colson Whitehead – The Underground Railroad.

Last time I tried to read historical fiction (The Nightingale), it didn’t go so well. I’m hoping this will be better. If not I might just give up the genre all together.
