Autumn is officially here! And that means cosying up under a blanket with some great books! Wheter it’s an official book club book, a classic, a debut, a sophomore or your favorite reread. Along side the official book club picks this month, I’m also adding a list of new books coming out this september. So if you’re more into chosing your own reads then head right down there.
The september book club picks:

Good morning America & Belletrist: Happiness falls by Angie Kim
When a father goes missing, his family’s desperate search leads them to question everything they know about him and one another–both a riveting page-turner and a deeply moving portrait of a family in crisis from the award-winning author of Miracle Creek.
I might have to look into Miracle Creek first, because I actually bought that book this summer and I have it in my window sill. I chose the book because the premise was intriguing, and this one equally so. Maybe Angie Kim has potential to be a new favorite? Who knows?

Reeses book club: Mother-Daughter Murder Night by Nina Simon
Described as The Maid meets The last thing he told me (another Reese pick made into a series). Set in coastal california the amateur grandmother-mother-daughter trio set out to solve a murder.
It sounds like a cosy mystery to me! (no where have I seen it described as cosy, but how can it be anything else?)
I’m not sure cosy mystery is my jam, I think I prefer a mystery mystery. But I did like the Maid, so maybe… worth a shot.

Read with Jenna: Amazing Grace Adams by Fran Littlewood
Surprise surprise! The february pick for “Books that matter” – now known as “Aphra” is Read with Jenna’s September pick. I’ve heard that the release of this book was postponed in America (for this reason?) while in Europe it’s been out since february. (I actually found my copy in the sales bin for 4 dollars.)
I didn’t read this in february because I couldn’t find it for sale anywhere then, but now that I have it, I’ll definitely read along with Jenna this month!

Diverse Spines: Family Lore by Elizabeth Acevedo
A familiar one in the bunch – Family lore was GMA’s pick for august, so if you’re like me and you didn’t read it yet, you have another opportunity this month!

The unhinged bookclub: Magnolia Parks by Jessa Hastings
I’ve joined a new book club! It’s online and there’s an app called bookclubs that you can download. There’s online meet ups so it doesn’t matter where in the world you are! (Except when it comes to time difference, there may be limitations.) Anyway, I’m following the unhinged bookclub and we all get to vote for the book we want, and this months winner was Magnolia Parks!
I’ve had this book in my shelf for a while, so I’m glad I now have some incentive to read it!

More september releases:

For the first time in a long time I’m excited to read all the book club books – GMA, Reese and Jenna. Starting with GMA since I absolutely LOVED Angie Kim’s last novel “Miracle creek”.
Aside from those I am also curious about First gen by Alejandra Campoverdi, Wellness by Nathan Hill, The golden gate by Amy Chua, just to name a few. Any of these books on your radar?
